We are looking for a full-time employee to join our team as a:

Financial Accountant

inomed Medizintechnik GmbH, based in Emmendingen, is an internationally active company that develops devices and systems to protect nerves in order to treat patients with precision. inomed develops tools and methods in the fields of intraoperative neuromonitoring, functional neurosurgery, pain therapy and neurological diagnostics.

High-quality products and innovative technologies improve the success of treatment and create safety for doctors and patients. In order to optimize our applications to meet the requirements of a dynamic market and everyday medical practice, our inomed specialists work closely with users from clinics, practices and research. 

As a Financial Accountant in the Italian branch of inomed S.r.l., the employee will be responsible for managing financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and providing accurate and timely economic information. The ideal candidate will have very good accounting experience, a strong attention to details and excellent cross-functional collaboration skills with the different teams.

Main Responsibilities:

General Ledger:

  • Monitor accounting records and ensure accuracy and up-to-date records.
  • Record daily bank statements.
  • Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of the company's general ledger and sub-ledgers.
  • Perform reconciliations between group companies and verify that intercompany transactions agree.
  • Monitor and analyse accounting transactions, identify discrepancies, and intervene promptly to ensure financial accuracy.

Tax Compliance:

  • Liaise with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with Italian tax law.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns and fulfil other tax-related obligations.
  • Constantly monitor tax legislation to keep up to date with tax regulations relevant to the business.

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with Italian Accounting Standards (OIC).
  • Develop financial reports for management highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs), economic, and financial trends.
  • Ensure compliance with civil and tax regulations in relation to the annual financial statements.

Budgeting and Forecast:

  • Support the preparation of the annual budget and the economic and financial forecasts in coordination with the department heads.
  • Monitor financial performance against budget, analyse any discrepancies and identify the main causes.

Financial Audit Support:

  • Liaise with external auditors and prepare all required documentation.
  • Address all audit findings and take corrective action as necessary to strengthen internal controls.

Cross Functional Cooperation:

  • Collaborate daily with Finance, HR, Operations and other HQ departments in Germany to collect and analyse financial data.
  • Prepare financial analyses to support decision making and business strategy.
  • Provide support to projects as needed.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Economics, Finance or Management Engineering or a related field.
  • Solid knowledge of Italian Accounting Standards (OIC), and financial and tax regulations.
  • At least 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably within a multinational environment.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Knowledge of German accounting standards (HGB) is a plus.
  • Previous experience in auditing firms is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft ERP systems, Navision Business Central or Finance & Operation is an advantage.
